The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service currently devotes significantly more resources to collecting scientific data than it does to validating, managing, and formatting the data for long-term use. This means each year a tremendous amount of the data and investment in data is lost to future conservation managers, stakeholders, and scientists.
The Service wanted to host a workshop that would gather subject matter experts to recommend solutions to this challenge.
Group Solutions designed and facilitated a multi-day workshop for over 75 FWS professionals, representing all regions and program areas that delivered consensus-based recommendations for managing data as a strategic asset and data life-cycle management to FWS leadership.
