Having a former President as a leader provides unique access to global expertise, knowledge of big challenges and access to resources. Over time, the demands on the Carter Center had multiplied adding many worthy projects, but straining staff resources. It was time to consider unique, sustaining roles for the Center that would survive the former President.

Group Solutions was engaged to facilitate an exploration of unique strengths and capabilities and identification of long-range legacy priorities. Not duplicating the successful work of others emerged as a key value. This enabled the team to identify a number of difficult “stop doing” activities and focus on core capabilities to make unique contributions worldwide.
